  • The train does not reach Sapa — it stops at Lao Cai, about 1 hour by road below Sapa.
  • Morning buses (around 07:00) arrive by early afternoon; night cabin buses arrive in the early hours.
  • Ask whether the bus drops at your hotel or at the Sapa bus station/central area.
  • Fog and rain are common — leave buffer time if you have an onward connection.
